Longshot Eisendrath Is Firing Bullets

Edwin Eisendrath, the former Alderman and Housing Guru has held successful positions in Local and Federal govenrments. Mr. Eisendrath is the Democratic Candidate running for the Democratic ticket against incumbent, Governor Blagojevich.

Mr. Eisendrath comes out swinging against Govenor Bagojevich about his promises to improve education, be a different kind of Govenor and eliminate the behind the scenes politics and "pay to play". "Eisendrath claims, out of fifty states, Illinois is last in education eventhough Blagojevich aides maintain the Governor has hiked the education fund by 2.3 billion as a cumulative total over the last three years". But the National Education Association backs Eisendrath's claim in a report filed, June 2005 that state support for grades K-12 from years 02' through 05' ranks last amongst the 50 states. (1) Also, the state colleges rank second to last with funding for education, all during the Governors term in office.

Northern Illinois University, a State University compiled data pertaining to the type of jobs that have been created over the past decade in Illinois. The rise in service jobs with a lower pay scale over lost manufactuing with jobs that carried better wages is growing. (1)

Eisendrath makes a campaign pledge to Blagojevich for campaign reform and "Stop" selling access to lobbyists and making deals for dollars. Governor Blagojevich is first in the nation for Political Fundraising and schools are last.(2)

The new "Flip Flop" from the Governor with "KENO", gambling has brought on even more criticism from Eisendrath, because he wants to legalize gambling in restaurants and bars.(3)The Chicago Sun Times quoted Rev. Tom Grey, executive Director of The National Coalition Against Gambling Expansion, Grey said. "He will have brought the most addictive form of gambling to every community in Illinois"(3)The heat is on and the Governor is trying to use the "No Tax Hike" excuse to justify the failing school systems.

Mr. Eisendrath is gaining support from other communities, such as Sesser Illinois of Franklin County where Mayor Ned Mitchell, a former state senator pledged support for Edwin Eisendrath in the March primary against Blagojevich. Stating how deeply dissapointed in the Goverenor for not living up to his promises, especially after working for his 2002 campaign.(4)

This is going to heat up in the coming weeks as indications of failing support from businesses, citizens, politicains and unions are turning away from the Governor... Stay tuned!
